Q. What makes Loes Hinse’s designs unique?

A. Loes trained in Europe to become a fashion designer, which is where she developed her unique concept of clothing construction. Over many years she has developed a distinctive pattern line that both compliments and flatters most body shapes.

Q. Can I see these garments already sewn?

A. Loes has a clothing boutique in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. Her store is located on Lincoln Street between Ocean and 7th. At her boutique you can see how her designs can be made again and again through the seasons. Once Loes perfects a pattern she will make it available to the home-sewer. Loes’ patterns are tested for many months at her boutique before she produces them as a pattern.

Q. What kinds of fabric do you recommend using for Loes Hinse Design patterns?

A. Rayon, wool, silk, microfiber, linen, and blends, are all fabrics that Loes uses for her own clothing line. Loes recommends using high quality fabrics that have exceptional texture and drape. Her patterns are designed to compliment the body by draping subtly and smoothly over the body’s natural contour. Part of the success of the finished garment will be choosing a fabric that compliments both the design of the patterns and the person wearing them.

Q. How do I know what size to make?

A. It is recommended to take flat pattern measurements and compare them to your body measurements. Because the patterns are multisized, It is possible to create a personalized pattern by combining two different sizes.

Q. Are any of the notions required for the patterns difficult to find?

A. No. Most of the notions required to finish a garment can be purchased in your local fabric store.

Q. How many patterns will Loes Hinse Design release to the home-sewer?

Her repertoire consists of numerous designs that are applicable to the fashion trends of the current season. They are designs that are both timeless and functional.

Q. What kind of security do you use for processing my credit card order?

A. When you enter your credit card number along with your other personal information into the order form, it is transmitted across the Internet in an encrypted (scrambled) form, then decoded when it gets to us. We use the powerful industry standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology to encrypt all of your on-line order information.

For added security, we also encrypt your credit card number when it is stored on our server's disk, and when we retrieve our orders.

Q. Why is SSL encryption used for e-commerce merchant services on the Internet?

A. Secure credit card transactions are necessary over the open channels of the Internet. Internet connections pass through many gates and servers. Unless measures are taken to close these open channels, the opportunity is there for the information to be intercepted when conducting sales using e-commerce. SSL provides a secure connection between your web browser and our web site server.

Q. How can I tell when I'm transmitting over a secure SSL connection?

A. Netscape and Microsoft compatible browsers will display a key or lock icon on the browser's status bar to indicate that encryption has been activated, while other browsers will display their own indicators.

Q. Should I worry about someone intercepting my credit card number when ordering on-line?

A. If you are not the kind of person who worries about being hit by lightning as you're crossing the street, you probably don't have to worry that your credit card number will be intercepted on the way to our secure web site. According to CNN, "The prevalent opinion...is that on-line credit card use is actually no riskier for consumers than traditional "low-tech" transactions."

Many people order products online all the time. When we use a credit card to buy something online, we feel at least as safe as we would using one in a store or restaurant.
